Apoc

Another Apocalypse Tourney started this weekend, so… I’m playing in rflong’s tiny town.

Ms. Brook Mills will be cramped in this 8×8 footprint on a 10×10 lot. She rolled Naturalist, which allows use of the Greenhouse set for the garden. She choose a car spot for a future spouse or law enforcement vehicle. (The spot can extend beyond the 8×8 space as long as the car does not!) The fencing might look a bit fancy, but it’s cheap and looks like it supports so the roof.

(The game is set to winter, but it takes a couple sim days to activate.) The first thing Brook does is head to the park and pick up the kicky bag.

After playing kicky bag for a bit, other sims start showing up and she greets each teen or older.

Then she heads across the street to the consignment store where she scores second edition gardening and handiness books.

After gaining an athletic skill, she jogs to the elixir store and scores the first edition gardening book, and then swings by the grocery to get a part-time job.

She spends the rest of the day greeting as many sims as possible, so that making friends with her future boss will be easier. She has a quick meal from the fridge and leaves the plate out to lick clean in the morning. Then she reads a cooking book before heading to bed.

That cooking skill means she can make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich before heading off to work.

Good food and a good mood with high fun from the kicky bag before work means that working hard can yield a promotion in just a couple days.

Sometimes there are so many people on the community lot she’s on that she’ll just say hi to a sim on the way to her waiting car pool.

Apparently, it’s okay for the burglar to not just take the kitchen sink, but your only ladder as well!

Fortunately, Brook had money and could replace the stolen ladder.

Also, fortunately, the burglar did not steal her bookcase. Imagine losing all her skilling books!

Despite the burglary, Brook still got promoted (and then, the game locked up and required task manger to close… and the second time around she didn’t get promoted until the next day. Sigh!)

Brook went to the science facility directly from the grocery store to apply for a job there. Then she finally able to plant her seeds and produce. (I was worried if she didn’t get the science job before 8 days, would she have to forfeit her seeds?! Luckily that wasn’t a problem.) She planted all her seeds that night, (even duplicate ones) and then read as much as she could of that second gardening book the next day before watering the plants on her way to bed.

She’s finished the second gardening book, but not the second handiness book yet. Her cooking skill is now beyond the first book too. She’s made her second payment to the mob after replacing the stolen sink in buy mode and the stolen ladder as well as a fireplace from build mode.

Continue.

Note: Rflong7’s tiny town contains the usual career rabbit holes and a few homes. I’ve added a couple lots through the world editor (one residential and one commercial), placed altered or completely built-from-scratch other rabbit holes and commercial lots. and, of course, I’ve built a lot of tiny homes and tweaked pre-existing ones to fill in the mostly empty builder’s world.
