Most sims wouldn’t move their families into homes in such disrepair.

It’s bad enough when the outside shows such obvious neglect.

But, I’m not your average sim and nether is my wife. We are eco-friendly and believe in reuse first and recycle second.

Some of these items seem down right scary and will take hours of scrubbing.

And some of the space is extremely underutilized.

Luckily, I’m very handy sim. I can repurpose all the excess fencing and dead bushes and brambles and turn them into additional floor space.

I also repurposed that second floor into a bedroom for us, so we don’t have to climb two flights of stairs when we are dead tired after an extremely long day.

And, if Rose wakes in the middle of the night, we’ll know right away.

The place is still rather dingy, but I’ve managed to build a bathroom on the main floor with the help of some of the fire wood out back.

And though the kitchen still needs a good scrub, we’ve brightened it a bit by adding windows.

And despite it being the worse experience that Clarinda has ever had to deal with, she persevered, and I admire her more than I ever thought possible.

We took a much needed break and went to the library to enjoy the escape of a good book (or half a dozen).

We did have to sell, trade, and barter a bit; but we ended up with some toys for little Rose to keep her entertained while we work on the house.

We’ve made some great progress on our home since we moved in. All the old dead scrubs and brambles are cleared and pretty flowers and bushes add more curb appeal. And, we have more windows to let in more light and fresh air; so, I’ll have to be happy with that for now.

As we crawled into bed, Clarinda told me we are expecting another little one.

Oh, what does our future hold? Will we survive here? Will we prosper? Will we make this a good home for our family? Only father time knows; and, wise old man that he is, he leaves it to us to make our way as best we can.

  1. Wow! Talk about the power of positive thinking and a little elbow grease! The place has some awesome potential! With a new child on the way, the future has some wonderful surprises! Great beginning Ciane! I look forward to the rest of the story!
