You’ve heard the traditional Cinderella story many times in many different ways, but let me tell you how the story really went; not the embellished pip dream. My step mother wanted everything for her own children, even though everything was MY father’s. I didn’t mind sharing, but I did object to the expectation that I would do ALL the housecleaning. I mean, that is just enabling in a very detrimental way. My step-sisters would never learn to pick up after themselves or feed themselves, so how would they be able to help care for children of their own some day?

Long story short – I moved out. I took one tomato seed and my old bike with me. That’s all. I plan to show my step-sisters that you don’t need much at all to be truly happy. I’m just happy to be out of that toxic environment!

On my way to the library, I stopped to say hello to a truly charming man. I may fantasize about being the woman he loves some day. For now, I have a desire to be a bit more charismatic, so I continue to the library and check out a book on charisma.

Screenshot-4After reading for awhile, the cutest bunch of children come in. I introduce myself to all of them and their grandma, and any other sims at the library.

Then, I go meet any sims out and about around the town square: at the bistro, the theatre, the park, the diner, or just on a sidewalk in front of city hall.

Apparently you can become a celebrity of sorts just by saying hi to a couple dozen sims. And it was nice to mooch dinner off my new friend just as the sun was going down.

Then it was back to the library to study a little gardening, use the restroom, and head upstairs for a nap on a couch.

It was difficult to nap for very long. I was spooked. So, I rode my bike back home and tended my tomato plant that was hopefully protected from wildlife enough by all the clutter around it. Then, I went back to the library to read more about gardening and catch another nap, or two or three.

I awoke to find a sim to mooch some cereal from, read some more, and then headed to the swim center nearby where I heard they had nice showers. I was enjoying a nap on the lounge there when I was awakened by a skinny dipper. I went inside to meet another sim and mooch a drink before going back to napping, when of course, the skies opened up and showered me.

I moved inside to nap, and nap, and nap some more. Then I grabbed a real shower before heading to the diner and mooching some juice, going home and paying 19 simoleans in bills from the 52 simoleans I got from selling seeds I was given for learning gardening at the the library, and then, returning to the library where I could use the bathroom, mooch free juice, call or text sims, and nap, and nap, and nap all night long. Seriously, I grabbed FIVE naps in a row!

I awoke the most refreshed I’d been in a long time, but also truly hungry, with no one around to mooch a meal from. I texted a few sims, went across the street to get a drink that did nothing to alleviate by hunger, grabbed another shower at the swim center, and finally spotted a sim at the dinner to mooch some juice from.

I returned to the library, caught up with a few friends on my cell, and told another sim my tale of being rained on. It got me a pie! Nice! I was getting used to napping on these comfy couches.

It might have seemed another typical day followed with mooching meals and showering and napping at the swim center. But today was different. Today I had my first harvest and my first party. I also visited a shop where I could buy another seed to plant!

I read at the library with other sims, got to know them better, and mooched meals. (See how gleeful she is about giving me plasma juice?!). I’d take naps during the day and wake up to mooch more before napping again all night long.

My garden was expanding and with more tomatoes to harvest, I returned to the shop for another seed and another meal. (Just look at her face as she offers me plasma juice!) My bills were 14 simoleans the second time around, so I had only 19 simoleans of seed money left for next week’s bills. I wasn’t worried though. I had replanted my best tomatoes and I now had wolfsbane and red toadstools planted too.

I enjoyed talking to Sebastian on the phone and had a great time when we got together, but I did wonder about the plasma juice he gave me when I mooched from him. I mean, I thought we were friends!

I attended another party that night and, when I saw a fellow guest napping out back, I immediately joined her. Long after the party ended, I continued to nap outside. I even mooched a quick meal from the fridge before leaving. I returned home to take care of my thriving garden and see what gifts other sims had sent me.

So, the first week has really gone remarkable well. I bought wolfsbane and red toadstool seeds at the shop for a total of 28 simoleans. With the exception of my 19 simoleans seed money for bills, I have nothing. Yet, I couldn’t be happier.
